LABS IN ILLUSTRATION ABROAD

The Cultural Association Teatrio, thanks to the collaboration of the Embassies of Italy, the Italian Institutes of Culture in the world and of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, besides the presentation of personal and collective exhibitions of artists known at an international level and of the International Exhibition of Illustration, fruit of the annual Competition, places side by side a full-immersion lab in illustration held by a famous artist and addressed to young illustrators not yet known by the public at large, or places side by side a lab held by an artist selected in the Competition and turned to the children of the elementary schools.

From 1992 up till now the labs realized by different artists are numerous, including:

- Lab session with Sophie Fatus ‘How a fairytale is created’, in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture and the Italian Embassy. Selected schools in Luxemburg, from March 13th to March 17th, 1995. In conjunction with it, a solo exhibition of the artist held in the Municipality of Luxemburg.

- Workshop with Sophie Fatus, held at the Collegio delle Claudine, Beirut, in conjunction with an exhibition organized by Teatrio of well known Italian Illustrators, from January 30th to February 10th, 1996.

- Lab session with Cristina Rinaldi ‘How a fairytale is created’, in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture and EL MONTE Foundation. Selected schools in Seville (San José de Calasanz, Alberto Magno, Jiménez Fernandez, Macarena, Aneyo and La Montilla), Spain, from March 18th to March 21st 1996.

- Lab session with Cristina Rinaldi ‘How a fairytale is created’, in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture and the Italian Embassy. Selected schools in Luxemburg, June 1997.

- In April 1999 the exhibition dedicated to the best Italian illustrators presented in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) is put side by side with the lab held by Cristina Rinaldi.

- In november 2000 the winner of the 1st Prize in the Competition 'African Legends' Hélène George has held a lab for the Italian Schools in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).

- In October 2001 the winner of the 3rd Prize in the Competition 'Stories of city' Maja CelIja has held a lab for the Italian Schools in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).

- In October 2002 the illustrators Valentina Baldisserotto Mai and Simona Occhiuzzi, selected in the Competition "Round Red" have held a lab for the Italian Schools in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). The day after the winner of the 3rd Prize Emiliano Ponzi has held a lab for the Savannah College of Art & Design (GA, USA).

- In October 2003 the illustrator Raffaella Brusagliono, selected in the Competition "Mysterious East" has held a lab for the Italian Schools in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). The same year, in November, the artist Cristina Rinaldi has held a lab at the Italian Institute of Culture in Mexico City, in occasion of the presentation of the International Exhibition of Illustration "Mysterious East".

- In February 2005 lthe illustrator Enrica De Natale, selected in the Competition "Circus" has held a lab for the Italian Schools in Lisbon (Portugal). The same year, in April, the illustrator Allegra Agliardi, selected in the Competition "Circus" has held a lab for the Italian Schools in Helsinki (Finland).

- In November 2007 the Master Adelchi Galloni has held a lab for the student of the Art Schools in Mexico City, in occasion of the presentation of the exhibition "Beyond the mirror" inside the International Book Fair.

- In February 2008 the Master Adelchi Galloni has held a lab for the student of the Art Schools in Vilnius, in occasion of the presentation of the exhibition "A Fabulous Yellow" at the LitExpo.

- In November 2008 the artist Kveta Pacovska has held a seminar and a lab for the student of the Art Schools at the Italian Institute of Culture in Mexico City, in occasion of the presentation of her solo-exhibition "The art of Kveta Pacovska" at the Cultural Centre Bella Epoca. In December of the same year the illustrator Federica Bordoni, selected in the Competition "Ghosts and get aways" has held a lab for children inside the Guadalajara Book Fair, in occasion of the presentation of the exhibition at the Interactive Museum Trompo Magico.
